Role: Outpatient Social Work Care Coordinator

Professional background: I have been a social worker for 18 years.  I was a bilingual school social worker with the Chicago Public Schools for 12 years working with young children with special needs.  I started with Lurie in 2013  as the social worker for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic - caring for medically complex children with neuromuscular diagnosis in both inpatient and outpatient setting.  I transitioned to the Lurie Health Partners care coordination team in 2017.

Why I'm excited about this role/program: I’m excited to carry the unique and special work we do at Lurie beyond the hospital and into the community.  I hope to support families on the incredible and often challenging journey of caring for a child with special health care needs. To empower and advocate on behalf of families so their child can thrive at home.

Outside of work: I love vegetable gardening, the Chicago Cubs and exploring with my three kids.
